Brad Lidge and the Last Crusade

October 28, 2009 has an article on the Phillies’ closer Brad Lidge. In addition to helping the Phillies in their quest for back-to-back World Series championships, Lidge is also taking classes in religion.

Lidge expects to finish his undergraduate degree within a few years. He plans to pursue a master’s, and hopefully a career excavating religious artifacts in Europe, after retiring from baseball.

Perhaps he will help save the Holy Grail from the Nazis after having helped the Phillies win another series of games.

I knew I liked you for a reason. How’s Girard ave? Miss my old neck of the woods.

Philly is still Philly. Whether an area is good or bad is more or less block-by-block. Girard is no exception. Around Brewery Town (aka Fairmount) it’s pretty gentrified, but there are both good and bad sections as the ave runs through the city.
